本剧场版一改刀剑神域之前的画质风格，不仅作画原生分辨率从Half-HD级别提升到Full-HD，作画的精度与细节也大幅提升，福利满满的画面很对得起剧场版的良心了。通篇除了一些很轻微的锯齿和色度色带之外也没有任何瑕疵，所以只简单的处理下这两者。因为本身细节丰富，线条锐利，加上动态镜头多，本篇属于比较耗费码率的类型，因此正片码率给的相对较高。
SAO The Movie shows significant quality improvement over the previous releases in two aspects: the native resolution is in Full-HD rather than the Half-HD upscaled, and the texture details are much more comprehensive. Overall from the pespective of image quality, this is well expected as a first-tier movie blu-ray. We simply fix some slight aliasing and banding issues before encoding. Since the movie features rich details, sharp edges and a lot of high-motion scenes, it naturally requires a higher bit-rate to keep up the transparent encoding quality.
